Guided Warm-Up & Open Pole:
All Levels |
These time slots allow for current clients to come and practice material and choreography learned in other classes. An instructor will be present to guide a full warm-up as well as provide support and advice during the open pole portion of the class. Beyond the warm-up, this is not structured as a formal class and no new movement material will be provided. Clients are required to arrive to these time slots on time and stay for the duration of class. Clients must take skills-based classes at Polarity in order to join these sessions. We also offer exclusive open pole sessions for clients who are competing through the studio or performing in Polarity's Showcase (see schedule for details).

Pole Level 1

This class is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of pole dance. Each class begins with a 15 minute warm up, 35 minutes of unique choreography, and a 10 minute cool-down. The focus of each Pole Level 1 class will vary and integrate instruction for various tricks and spins. This class type is accessible for clients with no previous dance or fitness experience. After taking 10-15 Pole Level 1 classes at Polarity, clients should begin to incorporate Pole Level 1-2 classes into their regimen. These classes focus on alignment, conditioning, drills, and technique designed to bridge the gap between Pole Level 1 and Pole Level 2.

Pole Level 2

These classes are designed to build upon the fundamentals introduced in Pole Level 1 and Pole Level 1-2 Classes. You will refine the basics and continue to learn stronger spins, combinations, climbs, and inverts. Pole level 2 classes are taught on both static and spin pole (Yes! The poles can spin). To prepare for Level 2, students should be confident in executing the skills outlined below. If you are a regular or new client, please receive instructor permission before advancing to Pole Level 2. If you arrive to a Pole Level 2 class without the required class pre-requisites or mastery of the below skills, you may be kindly asked to reschedule. After taking 15-20 Pole Level 2 classes at Polarity, clients should clients should begin to incorporate Pole Level 2-3 classes into their regimen. These classes focus on alignment, conditioning, drills, and technique designed to bridge the gap between Pole Level 2 and Pole Level 3.

Pole Level 3

Ready to play upside down?! This class is created for those who are already working on combination spins and climbs and are excited to take it to the next level. Clients will build on inversions and holds that require intermediate to advanced strength, coordination, and flexibility. Learn how to put your skills together into fluid, beautiful combinations while advancing your own strength and style! If you are a regular or new client, please receive instructor permission before advancing to Pole Level 3. If you arrive to a Pole Level 3 class without the required class pre-requisites or mastery of the below skills, you may be kindly asked to reschedule. It is recommended that Level 3 Clients are actively participating in Pole Level 2-3 Classes for training and conditioning.

Heels Choreography Levels 1 & 2

This class is designed for Pole Level 1 and 2 clients looking to add strength and sass to their repertoire. Classes will integrate floor work, conditioning, choreography, and exotic tricks! This class will leave you feeling empowered, sexy, and strong! It is recommended for students who are currently taking Pole Level 1 or 2 skill-based classes.

Fab Pole Aerial Choreography

These classes are comprised of a beautiful combination between pole dance and aerial fabric/silks. The practitioner has the support of the aerial silk while learning tricks and spins around the pole. The combination of the two apparatuses allows for supported, creative, and beautiful combinations on both static and spinning pole. This class is great for beginners (the fabric is extremely supportive for weight bearing movements) or pole dancers who are looking to add a new style to their repertoire. The aerial silks are also fabulous tools for flexibility training. Check the progressives & workshop tab for upcoming classes.

Flexibility Training

Flexibility is an important part of pole training and overall fitness. This class focuses on dynamic flexibility skills and drills. Class begins with a warm-up, core strengthening, and may include work with aerial silks, mats, poles, blocks, and/or bands.

Mobility Training

The missing link between where you are and where you want to be in your movement practice. This all-levels class is designed to teach you how to move through space intelligently, gracefully, and safely. You will roll, crawl, pivot, and leap towards the physical skills you are looking to cultivate in your practice. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned athlete, expect to sweat and experience huge growth in your inversions, mobility, spacial awareness, and overall body-weight strength.

Polega

Presenting aUM Yoga's signature flow yoga class, F*** This is Hard, brought to the pole! F*** This is Harder? Polega classes are flow classes which incorporate - one breath, one movement. The instructor will guide you through spinal warm-ups, Suryanamaskar A & B variations, core strengthening, long holds, and yin. The core, cardio, and long hold portion(s) of the class will be intensified using the pole. The pole is a great instrument for improving balance and flexibility, as well as exploring inversions. Classes are fully guided and not heated. Some yoga experience recommended.
